EXCURSIONS BY BIKE IN ROSOLINA MARE AND AROUND


PANORAMIC TOWER IN "FOCE DELL'ADIGE"

Recently built, the panoramic tower is made of steel and 16 meters high, is located at the end of the right cycle path Adige and it was considered among the 10 best works in the Veneto Region. At the top of the tower there is an observation platform that allows you to admire the exact point where the river meets the sea. At the base of the structure there are some wooden tables and benches for a nice picnic.

ROUTE "VIA DELLE VALLI"

Discover the fishing and hunting valleys, cycle along the "Via delle Valli", a nature route of about 12 km and it allows you to appreciate a landscape of land, water and uncontaminated nature. You must leave the main road that leads to Rosolina Mare where there are the two traffic lights and follow the sign. Along the way you can see some "casoni di valle", typical house frequented by hunters during the hunting season. The route ends on the road that connects Isola Albarella.

TO DISCOVER PINK FLAMINGOS

In "Valle Pozzatini", a few kilometers before reaching Isola Albarella, you can admire the pink flamingos, elegant and majestic birds settled in our territory. Here numerous white and pink colonies are very closed to the road for taking great pictures. The show is unique, especially at sunset when the red/pink sky is reflected in the water.

VISIT THE BOTANIC GARDEN IN PORTO CALERI

The Botanic Garden is located in Rosolina Mare, at the southern end of Porto Caleri. It is visited annually by more than 10.000 people who have the opportunity to know the vegetation and the species present, all identifiable thanks to the affixing of tags. Expert guides will accompany you along the 3 paths of about 4 kilometers served by an excellent trail. There are wooden structures and elevated walkways allow to easily overcome the unevenness of the ground and the parts of thicker vegetation. The visit is possible from April to September, on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and the ticket costs € 2.50. EXCURSIONS BY BOAT FROM ROSOLINA MARE AND AROUND


SAILING IN LAGUNA DI CALERI

The boat excursion starts from the berth of Porto Caleri and and navigating through the lagoon, with its clam breedings and its waters created by nature and man. It’s a unique and enchanting landscape, extremely rich in biodiversity where you can see many native animals. During the excursion along the "Via delle Valli" you reach Albarella, a landscape of beaches and lagoons. On the way back you can see the Botanic Garden.

THE MAISTRA-PO AND THE "GOLENA CA' PISANI"

For birdwatchers, this is the ideal excursion! The Maistra-Po is an arm of the Po river and it’s the most fascinating arm of the Po Delta. Here it’s the ideal habitat for birds, especially herons.

"SCANO BOA", BETWEEN LAGOONS AND REEDS

You reach Scano Boa sailing along reeds and narrow canals that connect the Po river to its brackish lagoons. The most rural farms that sank in the 50s and the Punta Maistra lighthouse are the last sign of man's past presence. Scano Boa is the symbol of the Po Delta and you can find an unspoiled landscape with wild beaches and some "casoni", typical houses of fishermen and hunters.

THE GREAT MOUTH OF "PO DI PILA"

This excursion is the best way to understand how the Po Delta formed and to admire the majesty of the Po. It takes place along the main branch of the river, the Po di Venezia. During the navigation you will pass from the vast forests of the last floodplains to the extensive reeds that surround the lagoons in the mouth area. At the end of the Po, you can admire the point where the majesty of the great river meets the sea.

LAGOONS BETWEEN "PO DI TOLLE"

The navigation starts from the beach of Barricata and during the excursion you can visit the lagoon of Canarin and the Sacca di Scardovari, very productive areas for the cultivation of mussels. Along the way you can see the island of Bonelli Levante which was once a fertile and inhabited area. Today you can still see the small village submerged. Dolphins and turtles can be sighted while sailing.

VENICE AND ISLANDS BY MOTORSHIP

Visiting Venice is always pleasant, then if you reach it by boat along the lagoon, the experience becomes unique and unrepeatable. You must arrive by car to the town of Chioggia and there take the boat (the meeting point is Piazzetta Vigo or Sottomarina "Ponte Isola Unione"). The duration of the navigation is about 1 hour and 30 minutes and when you arrive in Venice, you can discover the enchanting beauties of this city rich in history and culture. Do not miss the islands of the Venetian lagoon like Murano, Burano, Torcello, Lido di Venezia and Pallestrina. They are traditional islands with history and many activities to do.

If you like culture, you can visit some cities. Chioggia, the little Venice, is only 20 km away. Adria, the Etruscan city, is only 30 km away. And then there is Rovigo, the city of roses. Venice and Padua are both historic cities with many museums and activities to do. One hour away, you can reach Ravenna, the city of mosaics, Ferrara, the city of the Italian Renaissance and Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet.
